Our History

Founded in 1967 by Colombian Air Force technician Hernando Barrero, Instruavia began its journey as an organization committed to aircraft maintenance, standing out from the start for its dedication to quality and aviation safety. In 1987, the company was acquired by the Aeroservicios Técnicos de Colombia business group, marking a new chapter of growth and strengthening. A year later, in 1988, Instruavia was officially incorporated in the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, solidifying its position in the aeronautical sector.

When the business group dissolved in 1994, Instruavia became the property of the Pardo Leal family, led by Demetrio Pardo, one of the main shareholders of Aeroservicios. Under his leadership, Instruavia continued to evolve, standing out for its ability to adapt to the increasing demands of the industry. After Demetrio Pardo's passing in 1999, the company’s management was taken over by Rosalba Leal, who has played a key role in the company’s consolidation.

Over the decades, Instruavia has grown alongside the aviation industry, overcoming challenges and adopting the highest international standards. From implementing advanced technology to building a highly trained team, every step we have taken has been driven by our primary goal of improving safety and efficiency in aviation.
